Taroko National Park

Writing my blog entry a day late... whoops!

So Thursday we went to Taroko and saw the gorge. Its an amazing place with rivers and mountains, something i don't see often. Everything was just so green and huge! The people that live here must have an interesting lifestyle. It is so far up from the city and the allows its residents to interact so closely to nature. This probably makes it easier for the aboriginals to maintain their old traditions and customs that we seen in the show that night.

I really liked the show the hotel put up that night. It was very informal, they were just trying to show us what their life was like. I really admire the way the leader treats the dancers and workers of the hotel. Even though he is probably not an actual aboriginal, at least I don't think so, he really cared for everyone. He spends time teaching the kids, and is basically running a daycare for them also. The leader also seemed really happy, and he makes the kids happy as well. This is probably one of Stanley Yen's points. To help other people and make them smile is better than being extremely successful and making a lot of money.
